Social Media Portfolio 

My pursuit of community engagement and storytelling predates my use of social media. Before I was even allowed an account, I would get friends of friends’ numbers. Via text, little me was able to build communities of like-minded kids I’d only met through a screen. I’ve brought this same passion to my career in social media and content creation, where I have the opportunity to connect and engage on a scale that my younger self never could have imagined.

This is one of my favorite projects that I’ve done to date. Original YouTuber Liam Sullivan aka “Kelly” was a viral hit with the song “Shoes” in the 2000’s quickly amassing millions of fans through his sketches.

After catching Liam perform the track live at a Pride event, I reached out to make a two part interview covering his YouTube era and his resurgence via live shows. Authentically embracing millennial nostalgia with a modern angle struck an emotional cord with viewers and evoked thousands of heartwarming comments.

Vinyl Visits is a monthly campaign on Instagram and TikTok spotlighting local record shops in the Los Angeles area.

  • We partnered with record stores whose customers matched one of our target demographics. By collaborating on the posts, we reached new followers and created an emotional connection by their favorite "gem."

  • By leveraging the established reputations of our partner stores, we strengthened our credibility as a leading and relevant music outlet.

  • As a local outlet, our followers look to us for 'insider knowledge' and community connections. This campaign positioned KCRW as a go-to source for exclusive access to local events and cool things to do in LA.
